Have to agree with Jan.
I have used many accountancy packages, Accpac, Pegasus, Quick-books, Tas, TTwin, Sage Line 50
Sage Line 50 (Now line 100) is pretty good.
Thanks

Sage is brilliant.
Used to use it in my book keeping business.

IS THE BEST SOLUTION FOR YOUR NEED
Look into Quickbooks & peachtree, do your homework, check the web-sites & trials for all of them listed in your answers, also call the companies w/ questions, let them know you are shopping for a software, they will dicount it for you if you buy theirs, win win.
Best of Luck
For 5 years i have used Instantadmin. Its cheap, does everything a small business needs and is completely user friendly. I think the full version is £59.00 but you can download a trial version to try it out. Their address is http://www.instantadmin.co.uk/
There are a number of really good solutions out there which do a good job. A lot will depend on your personal level of book-keeping knowledge and your personal preferences.
Personally I loath Sage as being one of the most un-friendly and unnecessarily complicated bits of kit out there, but it is used by a lot of people so people tend to stick with it.
That said, the ones I tend to recommend these days for small businesses are:
Solar Accounts – http://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/ (designed very well for small businesses)
Quickbooks 2010 – http://quickbooks.intuit.co.uk/small-business-accounting/index.jsp (which is a huge improvement on the 2008 version and now works quite well indeed)
VT Transaction Plus – http://www.vtsoftware.co.uk/tranplus/index.htm (which I use and is brilliant, but you do need to have a grasp of book-keeping to use it at its best)
quick book is ok.
To me, the best solution for your business is the accounting software TioLive.
It is based on ERP5 source code (http://www.erp5.com/demo/try).
This is an online software which will only requires a free subscription to be able to get a personal account.
It is simple to begin with, unexpensive, complete and reliable. To be honest, its only requirement to become your main business school is to do the tutorials (https://www.tiolive.com/tiolive-tutorial).
