Difference Between Accounting and Microeconomics?

I know macroeconomics is larger scale, economies of countries or the world. However, both accounting and microeconomics deal with finances for a individual household/business. What is really the difference? How would a degree/career in accounting differ from a degree/career in microeconomics?

Thanks!

Suggestion:

Microeconomics and accounting are SO different, that the only similarity I can think of between the 2 is that they both deal with finances.

Microeconomics have to do with things like a products demand and supply, the amount that should be produced in order for a company to maximize profit taking into consideration certain factors, the cost of an extra unit of product etc. Also "studying" other similar companies, especially competitors in order to choose the right strategy etc.

Accounting has to do with the NUMBERS of a company(/household). Recording each and every transaction of a company in financial books, forming the financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement etc), so that those transactions are reflected in them in the best way possible (or the way the company wants them to..) and so that people can have a "true and fair" view of a company's condition. It's closer-related to-also necessary for auditing, which is(auditing) in two words checking the accuracy of a company's financial statements.
A "good" and experienced accountant can also "manage" those numbers so that the company shows what it wants to show to the public when it comes to its finance. For example an accountant can "cook the books", using various ways, so that the company will seem to have much more profit than it does in reality etc. (which is a VERY COMMON practice in accounting) Or cook the books in a way that the company shows less profit in order to pay less taxes etc.

I'm studying business administration, with major in accounting and I find it EXTREMELY interesting, although many people may find accounting boring. It's not boring AT ALL and requires A LOT of thinking and knowledge (that you acquire while studying). Also the opportunities of finding a good job are plenty. Personally I will try to become a CPA. That's my dream.
